FiveTimes Privacy Policy
Thank you for using FiveTimes. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how that information is used, and the choices you have. FiveTimes is built to work primarily on your device, and we do not run our own analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

How We Use Information
- Prayer times and Qibla bearing: FiveTimes uses your location to calculate prayer schedules on-device. No location data is transmitted to our servers.
- Notifications: When you enable prayer notifications or reminders, the app schedules local notifications through iOS. Notification identifiers and delivery are handled by the system.
- Widgets and Apple Watch: The app stores coordinates, calculation method, madhab, time format,
and an update timestamp as encoded settings in shared app-group
UserDefaults. Widgets calculate schedules locally from these settings. The app also sends these settings to your paired Apple Watch through Apple WatchConnectivity so the watch app and complications can calculate their schedules locally. - Support communication: If you choose to send us feedback, the app prefills device details (model identifier, iOS version, and app version) in the email body so we can assist you faster. You can review and edit this information before sending; nothing is transmitted until you manually send the email.
What We Do Not Collect
- No account creation, sign-in, or cloud sync.
- No analytics, telemetry, or diagnostic logs are sent to us.
- No advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No uploads of your preferences or schedules to our servers. Settings sync only to your paired Apple Watch as described above.
Third-Party Services
- Adhan Swift: FiveTimes links against the Adhan Swift open-source library to compute prayer times locally. The library runs entirely on your device and does not send data elsewhere.
- Apple Frameworks: The app relies on Apple-provided frameworks (e.g., CoreLocation, UserNotifications, WidgetKit, SwiftUI). These frameworks may have their own privacy practices as described in Apple’s documentation, but FiveTimes does not send any additional data through them beyond the requests required to provide the features you use.
Data Storage and Retention
- Location and preference values are cached on your iPhone and, when paired, your Apple Watch. Revoking location access stops new location requests; cached widget/watch coordinates may remain until replaced or the app is removed.
- Widget settings are replaced when the app refreshes its location or preferences.
- Local notifications are managed by iOS. Disabling notifications in the app cancels pending alerts; already-delivered alerts remain in Notification Center until dismissed.
Your Choices
- Location: You can allow or revoke location access at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Location Services ▸ FiveTimes. Without location, prayer times cannot be calculated.
- Notifications: Enable or disable alerts under Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ FiveTimes or from the in-app toggles.
- Reminders: Adjust reminder lead times directly within the app’s Settings tab.
- Feedback Email: Sending feedback is optional. Edit or remove the prefilled details before sending if you prefer.
- Data Removal: Remove FiveTimes from both your iPhone and Apple Watch to remove app data on both devices. Feedback emails you choose to send are separate from local app data.
Children’s Privacy
FiveTimes does not knowingly solicit, collect, or transmit personal information from children. The app’s on-device functionality is the same for all users.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced within the app or on fivetimes.app/privacy. Your continued use of FiveTimes after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
